If you’ve ever worked in an office in the 90s, you’ll appreciate the effort Nolimit City has made with the Nine to Five slot. Graphically, it brings back memories of Beavis and Butt-head and The Office television series (by Ricky Gervais). That evokes the mundane nature of these types of environments which are reinforced by the dial-up internet sounds and office equipment that has become redundant these days. From an aesthetic point of view, NLC has delivered yet again with a unique take on a possibly boring subject matter. In terms of the gameplay, yellow ID Wilds can give you nothing (Red Wild) or a Green Wild with a random multiplier up to 5x. The xNudge Wild nudges and increases the win multiplier which can give you big wins if you manage to land multiple xNudge Wilds. xWays are pretty standard these days but they do increase the number of ways and display the same symbol. The 2 free spins features see special symbols increase or decrease the win multiplier up 9,999x. Nothing unique here. In the base game though, landing the Mega symbol fully in view will award you the max payout (9,217 x bet). If you’re a non-UK player, you can opt for the God Mode for 1,370 x bet and get 1 spin in the hope you land this illusive Mega symbol. With 9,217 x bet max wins, Nine to Five isn’t Nolimit City’s best-paying slot by any stretch of the imagination. That said, the max win probability is 1 in 148,000 spins in the base game. This is significantly lower than other NLC games. To compare, Tombstone RIP offers a max win of 300,000 x bet that will be won every 130 million spins. I found this game entertaining from a thematic point of view. The xBet feature represents good value as it costs 10% more per spin and more than doubles your chances of triggering a free spins feature. I would recommend this to UK players with the bonus buy options not available. In summary, the Nine to Five slot can be as much a slog as it is to work in these kinds of environments. If you manage to keep on the right side of your manager and get lucky with xNudge Wilds and win multipliers, it can see you reap the benefits of the rat race. At times, however, it will feel like you’re stuck in your cubicle with nowhere to run.

“It’s all takin’ and no givin’” is a line from Dolly Parton’s famous song with the same title as this game, and sometimes, it sure does apply to the God Mode Bonus Buy. 1370x the bet in itself is a hefty cost for a bonus buy, and when you add in the 0x factor, it seems even crazier. But you can also be lucky and hit the max win twice in a row, so the term high volatility has never been more fitting. One of our streamers over at Casinodaddy, Ogge, once said that someone should create a bonus buy where you either get the max win or 0x. Were you listening, NoLimit? Worth noting, though, is that the God Mode Bonus Buy is unlikely to be very appealing for the majority of players. Even at the lowest bet size, it comes in at a cost of €274 and has a very high chance of returning 0. Streamers and players with huge bankrolls might give it a go, though. Although too unique not to be the focus, Nine to Five has a lot more to offer than the God Mode feature. The nudges and xWays make it feel like an authentic NoLimit experience, where it’s easy to see how the game explodes. However, while they’ve been very innovative in one department, the rest of the game doesn’t feel that groundbreaking. The Middle Management Spins feel tame, with a rather slow exponential increase in multiplier. This changes if you reach the Ivory Tower, where you’ll immediately see more potential. Nine to Five by NoLimit City offers an absolutely absurd feature buy in what feels like an authentic NoLimit experience.
